To Quit Or Not??

I usually start my day with brushing my teeth and had at least 2 cup of plain water.. and then headed to my desk and switch on my dearest 'Chad' lappy-toppy and start my day by checking my e-mails... Even when I was working,upon arriving at my desk, I will switch on the PC then checking my e-mails too... Its a habit I guess.. Then I will do other stuff like checking out my friends blog, checking Friendster and Facebook.. and surfing for other academic stuff.. well, I am an Internet Junkie what... hahahha... But today when I open my work e-mail.. the WCS e-mail.. I found this particular e-mail from our Big Boss.. Our President..Our CEO.. Dr. Steve Sanderson.. an important message to all his staff.. *sigh*.. I don't know why all the sudden.. I don't have any ideas... could it be a sign to me.. or my colleagues from all over the world.. BTW, Here some of the e-mail content..

'Memorandum on the One WCS Transformation

To: WCS Staff
From: Steve Sanderson
Date: March 12, 2008

Executive Summary: WCS is at a crossroads. We are a strong, well-managed, sophisticated organization, with an operating budget second only to The Nature Conservancy and a global deployment second to none. We have stood on the shoulders of strong, entrepreneurial scientists and field conservationists and a curatorial tradition that has set virtually every standard in the zoo and wildlife health world.

Yet, we find ourselves on unsteady financial footing, pressed by an uncertain grants environment, and insufficient long-term investment capital. We face a future unfamiliar to our past, with global climate change and human economic expansion threatening conservation as never before. And we are operating at a tiny scale, given the challenges facing biodiversity.

We can face these challenges and achieve much more in conservation, distinguishing ourselves further in the coming years as the single conservation organization dedicated to science in the service of conservation through our global field commitment and our New York City parks.

To do so will require a change in scale, a refinement of our conservation vision, and significant changes in our resource allocation and management. It will also require the energy and collaboration of WCS staff to engage in this transformation process and to deliver on our organization’s potential. Together, these changes are nothing short of a transformation in WCS'

Recently, two of my colleagues quit from their job. They are from the Elephant Survey team in West Malaysia. A husband and his wife. It so sad losing workers like them cause they are both very strong and very enthusiastic about animals. Just like the rest of the team. But something happen along the way, and they think that its better for them to quit. We tried but they just refused to stay. I admit that WCS is a very good organization in a way that we are saving the wildlife in every way but its has its flaw, no one is perfect, no organization is perfect. I have been thinking of quitting at a certain point and even at a certain time... But the loves for the wildlife is stronger than ever.. I have disappointments over the company but I had my way of solving it.. I talk to some of my colleagues and they give me more reasons why I should stay and why I should be doing what I am doing now.. and I thanks them for that.. I become even stronger than yesterday.. and it makes me realize that, there is a way for every problems, you just need to figure it out... ya, Just figure it out, by yourself or talks to the one you trust..

But, let not worry about that now. time will decide. what important now is finishing my Master and if possible, continue with my PhD... let just hope that I can get my PhD scholar this time... hehhehe...

If you guy want to know about our organization, feel free to drop by these 2 website;

If I walk away from the company, I can't look back and come back when I wanted too.. I won't risk it cause the working environment is very good...
