Labour Day!!!

Happy Labour Day!!!

I didn't remember that today is the labour day. I always forgot cause even I am a worker myself, I never celebrate this day. Its not that I don't want to. Its the fact that I wasn't be able to celebrate it for the past few years. Why? Cause I am in the field working and doing the research. Yes, I know its A ONE DAY celebration but come to the fact that, is it a must or just the regular holiday. I don't have to wait to that particular day to celebrate it, I am a worker and everyday is a worker day! Full stop.

So how did I spent my day,specifically today. I wake up very early today and headed to the Center Office. Waiting for the workers to come and headed to the paddock. Yes, I stay at the conservation center, specifically for Seladang or Gaur. I haven't had an experience doing work with the Seladang so today is the day. The Day that I will help out and do their daily work. I love to do this and experience it so that I can understand the situation better and I can give something in return. The fact that it needs a hard work and willingness, so today I am willing to become them. So we cleaning the paddock, clear out all the branches, the left-over, the 'feces' and dump it to the dumping areas. Then we carry all the food to the truck, branches of tree, banana and pellet and send it to each paddock, its one tan of food. and only 5 people doing it including me. Arrange the leaves and small branches nicely and tied it with the rope and hang it on the fence and move to the next paddock. It was energy consuming type of works. I am all tired and itchy. but thats not important, what important is that I know how hard they work and what have they done to improve anything.

So, appreciate what you have and don't complain to much. Other people work so hard to earn for living. And they didn't complain much!!

OMG!! I forgot...

I totally forgot that I need to announce the contest winner on my blog... I have been distracted by a lot of things lately... So here we go...

The photos is brown and white sugar rock/lump.. hehehhe... i know i know its look like marshmallow or cube or candies to some of you, but the reality is, it is a sugar rock/lump.. the photos were taken somewhere in February this year at the La Bodega, Bangsar.. the place where Debbie and his Mr. BF and I go to chill ourself.... so the photos were taken in front of them with my mobile phone camera...

Yay.. My 100th Post... and a Contest!!

Yay.. Its my 100th post.. So, to celebrate this I am officially will give something to someone... hehehe.. but first,to be qualified to have the special something.. You have to do 2 things.. First is to guess what is the item on the photo below and second, list out 3 endangered wildlife and tell me why you choose that particular 3 wildlife to conserve or preserve... I will accept any answer for the conservation or preservation purposes but make sure that you list out the wildlife not domestic animals okay.. My Mr.BF and somebody else (Debbie or Colin) will help me to choose the winner.... So the contest begin from today(3rdApril) till 27th of April.. Whatever it is, send it.. I will update it daily and put up the list... So spread the news and don't forget to list out yours.... I will send the pressie to where ever the winner is located... =)

The 3rd Teachers For Tigers Workshop (T4T)

I was busy the whole week for the 3rd Teachers For Tigers Workshop (T4T) in Jenderak Selatan.. This is the third workshop after the first workshop in Jenderak Selatan somewhere in November last year, followed by the 2nd T4T in Merapoh last month.. But it was even busier because I was doing the training and my MSc lab work at the same time.. So during my lunch rest time, while my other friends are resting or sleeping or playing my PSP, I would do my lab work and try to finish extracting all the samples and while they are resting in the evening before dinner and night session, I would drive down to my research site and get my daily fruits supply and rush back and set up the lab machine.. then rush to take bath and ready for the night session.. I don't know where I got all the energy.. I seriously don't know.. but I guess, in my heart it is so important that I give all the information that I have in my head and I have to give out the best for the participants.. I know that when it comes to conservation works, I would give my 250% and even more efforts... it one of the part where I can become myself.. the true me... But without the helps from my bestest friend,Debbie and the facilitators, Azima and I couldn't make all this happens and successful.. I thank you all.. we owe you big time.. well, there's a reason behind everything.. it was a mess at first but we managed to solve it and thanks so much to Debbie for coming with me to help me and Azima with the workshop..

I don't have to explain more as I guess the photos will explain everything.. I have disappointments during the workshop.. I will tell you about this in my next post.. and its up to where I don't even want to give the talk anymore.. but remembering the WCS reputation and my reputation too, I did it... even with less spirit left in my heart... well,will tell you more about it later..

What I have been today other than my lab work.. Yes! eating my heart out.. hahahha.. another post on food. I was having a blast with my friends here. We had BBQ and karaoke session afterwards. It was fun.Lots of fun. I know that I have been doing hard work and I need to enjoy myself too. So this is one of it and this is how unwind it... I so miss my Mr. BF

Paintball Anyone???

Yesterday was extra fun.. super extra fun.. and why is that? because I was playing Paintball... hehehe... It was fantastic.. blood rushing game but I got to enjoy myself... That is important... the whole body is in pain but I don't mind that.. Okay,let me tell you a little bit about the Paintball Game.. Paintball, like many other games, revolves more around teamwork than it does equipment or even the skill of individual players. A well-organized team working together can defeat a team whose players are in disarray, even if individual members of the confused team have better skills and gear. Communication is key to a winning team, and often presence of mind and teamwork help to win a game....

Paintball is a game that is very similar to Airsoft in which participants eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with liquid-filled, breakable, gelatin paintballs shot from a carbon dioxide or compressed-gas-powered known as paintball marker. A game of paintball usually involves two opposing teams seeking to eliminate all of the other team's players or to complete some other objective, such as retrieving a flag, eliminating a specific player, or other paintball variations. Depending on the style of paintball played, a paintball game can last from seconds to days, although typical woodsball games are five to thirty minutes long.

Like many sports, safe participation in paintball requires observance of proper safety procedure. When safety rules are followed, paintball is extremely safe, with an injury rate of only 0.2 injuries per 1,000 exposures. The most important rule in paintball is that all players must wear a protective google system or mask at all times when they are playing or near other people who are playing. While paintballs will not cause permanent injury to most areas of the body, the eyes, and to a lesser extent the ears, are vulnerable to serious injury if hit by a paintball. Paintball masks are specifically designed for the sport, and the goggles are capable of withstanding a direct hit from a paintball traveling at well over 300 feet fer second (90m/s), the safety limit adopted by paintball marker manufacturers.

These are the basic variations of the game;

• Capture The Flag- A team must take the flag from the designated flag station, often either at the opponents' flag station at the opposite side of the field, or in the center of the field. The flag must then be 'hung' at one's own flag station or the enemy flag station, respectively.

• Elimination - A team or individual player must eliminate all of the opposing team.

• "King of the Hill" - two or more teams attempt to capture and hold one or more bases. The game is won by the team that holds the base(s) for the longest net amount of time.

• "Vitals" - A Paintball contest variation where only hits to the chest, back or head count as eliminations. Hits to the legs, arms or shoulders do not count. VitalsGear team game and tournament shirts are worn to determine if human vital organs have been hit.

• "Mutants" - A type of team elimination where there are two teams- mutants and humans. When a human player is out, they switch sides and become a mutant. The mutant team tries to eliminate all human players. Eliminated Mutants only sit out for a certain amount of time, usually ten minutes. The game ends when all human players are out.

• "President"- one player on each team is the president and each team must keep there president unharmed but also take out the other teams president.

Paintball equipment varies depending on the type of paintball game being played and the skill level of those playing. Every player, however, requires three basic pieces of equipment:

• Mask :Absolutely necessary for players' protection.
• Complete paintball marker : Markers usually also require some sort of loader/hopper and propellant to work (CO2 or compressed air).
• Paintballs : To eliminate other players

Thats a little bit about Paintball... You have to experience it personally to know how its feel.. its a pure joy.. So, I am calling my friends to join me to play next time.... hehehe
